Bert Bakker

Bert Bakker is a postdoctoral researcher at the Amsterdam. After attaining his M.Sc. in Psychology as well as Political Science at the University of Amsterdam, he moved to the University of Southern Denmark to work on his Ph.D project. In his dissertation, Bert addressed the direct and indirect associations between personality traits and political attitudes and behaviours. As a postdoctoral researcher, Bert explores the extent to which personality affects the stability and change in political attitudes and how the responsiveness to political communication with a specific focus upon attitudes towards the EU. Aside from that Bert is involved in a project addressing the psychological roots of populism and a new research project addressing the physiological responses to news content.
