Marijn van Klingeren started in November 2009 as a PhD candidate at ASCoR. She works on the project “Political conflicts in five systems: The role of citizens, media and parties in the politicization of immigration and European integration. An NWO-project in which she collaborates with her political science colleagues at the University of Amsterdam to find an answer to the causal mechanism of issue evolution. Marijn focuses specifically on the link between media and citizens.
Marijn holds a Research Master degree (bene meritum) in sociology from the Radboud University in Nijmegen. In her thesis she analyzed the British gender gap in political attitudes with the use of the British Household Panel Survey by estimating growth curve- and fixed effects models. During and after her graduation she has worked as a researcher at ResearchNed.
