Philip van Praag (1949) is associate professor Political Science and director of the bachelor programme Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. He is affiliated as senior research fellow at the Amsterdam School of Communications Research. His research focuses on political parties, election campaigns, political marketing, referendums and the political role of the media. He published many articles and books about election campaigns and referendums in the Netherlands. He is member of de Stichting Het Nieuwe Parool and of the Referendumkamer of the city of Leiden.
