Rachid Azrout

 

Rachid Azrout is a Ph.D. candidate at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR). His current research focuses on the effects of news frames on public opinion on the potential membership of Turkey in the EU.

Before coming to ASCoR he was a member of the Political Science department of the University of Amsterdam. For the Amsterdam Institute for Education in Social Sciences he taught classes on Methodology and Statistics, Political Behavior, Political Theory and International Relations, and at de Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies he participated in research on anti-radicalization policies.

Rachid got his Master’s degree in Political Science with a thesis where he explored the effects of media frames on de opinion on Islamic education in the Netherlands. Before he started his studies of Political Science he also briefly studied Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam.
