Delaney Peterson

PhD Candidate

Delaney Peterson is a PhD candidate with the Amsterdam School of Communication Research and the Hot Politics Lab. Her work is interdisciplinary, found at the intersection between political communication, political psychology and political science. Her dissertation explores the need for domain-specific ‘political mental health’ when understanding the relationship between mental health and politics through a mixed methods approach, spanning surveys, interviews and experimental design. Delaney is part of the NWO funded project “Under Pressure: How citizens respond to threats and adopt the attitudes and behaviours to counter them” and is supervised by Bert N. Bakker and Gijs Schumacher. Delaney holds a Master’s of Science from the University of Amsterdam (Research masters in social sciences) and from Lynn University (Psychology) and a Bachelor’s of Arts from The New School (Political theory).
