Assistant Professor
Emma van der Goot is an assistant professor at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (University of Amsterdam). Her research focuses on political conflict, the coarsening of political debate, and its impact on citizens’ attitudes and behavior. She also studies the role of misinformation in political conflict and how we can make citizens more resilient to misinformation. Central to her research is not only the relationship between politics and the public, but also the complex relationship between media and politics in today’s media landscape.
