Lecturer
Marie Garnier is a lecturer in the Political Communication and Journalism Programme Group. She has an interdisciplinary background in economics, history, and political communication. Marie obtained her PhD from Wageningen University & Research, where she examined the role of news media in shaping the democratic public debate on food production. Her research explores issues related to news media, journalism, misinformation, media power, and democratic discourse. More broadly, her research and teaching interests lie in the intersections of journalism studies with feminist and decolonial theories and methodologies, with a particular emphasis on qualitative approaches. Marie teaches courses at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels.
