Ellen Linnert

PhD Candidate

Ellen Linnert is a PhD candidate at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on threat perceptions of misinformation and their connection to public discourse and individual-level biases. Specifically, her PhD project explores the discrepancy between salient threat frames and misinformation perceptions on the one hand and low observed misinformation exposure on the other hand, using qualitative, quantitative, and computational methods.
She holds a Research Master’s degree in Communication Science and studied at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Freie Universität Berlin (Germany), and the University of California, Santa Barbara (US).
