Lisanne Wichgers is a PhD candidate in Political Communication at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research at the University of Amsterdam. She is involved in the ‘Defending or Damaging Democracy’ project, which studies the electoral and societal consequences of legal prosecution of anti-immigrant parties/members in Europe. Her PhD project mainly relies on experimental designs. Special attention will be paid to the role of the media in shaping citizens’ reactions to these actions.
Lisanne Wichgers holds a Master of Science (Cum Laude) in Social Sciences at the University of Amsterdam. Before moving to Amsterdam, she obtained a bachelor’s degree (Cum Laude) in Psychology from the University of Groningen.
