Jonas Lefevere is an Assistant Professor of Political Communication at the University of Amsterdam. After attaining his M.A. in Political Science at the University of Antwerp, he completed his PhD in Political Science while working in the Media, Movements and Politics (M²P) research group at the University of Antwerp. He then worked as post-doctoral researcher and project leader on the ERC advanced grant project InfoPol.
Whereas his PhD dealt with the priming effects of election campaigns on voters’ decision making, his broader research interest is the effect of political communication on public opinion. His current work focuses on priming, issue ownership, exemplification, voting advice applications and the development of political knowledge. He has published on these topics in, among others, Public Opinion Quarterly, Communication Research and Political Communication.
